When home owners in France were sorting with their attic, they identified an ornately embellished, beautiful porcelain vase.
The vase had actually gone undetected for years, yet, when the couple saw it, they had it taken to Paris for a Sotheby’s assessment.
Sotheby’s uncovered that the flower holder was an original artwork from the Qing Dynasty, and they evaluated it at $590,000 to $825,000.
But, this covert treasure would go on to cost much more than its value, as an auction customer scooped it up for a winning bid of $19 million.
This item needs to really have been one-of-a-kind to bring that cost.
