Although Norfolk has one of England’s most beautiful coasts, huge pipes rarely wash up on the strand there. These were not the common pipes you find in homes, but rather enormous industrial metal objects the size of many cards combined.
The pipes’ fastenings apparently fell undone while being transported to Algeria. Nothing could be done by the crew but watch as they sank.
They were eventually de-beached and sent to a place in neighboring Lowestoft, but not before a number of bystanders managed to take selfies with them.
