Who knows what lurks in the bogs of Ireland? Many people might anticipate finding a fairy or other fabled creature, but one man in 2016 found something even stranger.
On his farm in Cavan County, he discovered a piece of butter weighing twenty-two pounds concealed in a bog.
Experts estimate that the bog butter, which was discovered buried more than ten feet beneath the cup, is 2,000 years old.
In addition, archeologists claim that you could eat some of this bog butter if you were brave enough because it probably remained edible and preserved throughout time.
Fortunately, no one has requested this to be spread on toast, and the unique item is now on display at the National Museum of Ireland.
