It is unusual to enter a Scottish community and find an old sculpture of a British figure there. The venerable British politician Sir John Gordon’s antique bust from the 18th century was discovered supporting a shed door open.
Before long, no one in the sleepy Scottish community of Balintore, Easter Ross, realized the value of the treasure they had.
The sculpture, which costs more than $1.9 million (£1.5 million), is currently on a lavish display in the Louvre.
