In November 2021, Jon Stein, an English cab driver, discovered something quite horrifying in his store-bought bananas. When he arrived home from the store with the bananas, he discovered a “two-inch mass” hanging from them. Before it started to “twitch,” he was unaware of what the mass was.
Not only was there a half-dead spider in Stein’s bananas, but it was also one of the most dangerous spiders in the world, and when he focused his eyes, he claimed to see “big, bony, hairy legs.”
This spider is indigenous to South America and is referred to as a Wandering Spider because it enjoys nighttime foraging through forest floors. It probably rode on banana leaves brought into England and enjoyed its journey until it arrived at Jon Stein’s residence.
