What is Eyefind?
Eyefind is a made up fictional search engine for GTA. Players can search for locations, receive emails, send messages and get calls in-game through multiple features of Eyefind. The seacrh engine is based on real life search engine google. The homepage is also influenced a lot by Yahoo’s web portal. Eyefind has features like Eyefind maps and Mail.eyefind.info which are similar to Google maps and Gmail respectively.
Eyefind in different GTA instalments
Grand theft auto IV- In GTA IV, players received emails from other NPC’s about whereabouts and missions. You could browse websites and and check your email via eyefind. Along with the search engine, eyefind.info had a random link generator called LuckyFind Search, where the player could look through a list of randomly selected websites.
Grand theft auto: Chinatown wars- Players cannot access the internet in GTA Chinatown. Some characters in-game such as Rudy D’Avanzo, Lester Leroc and Xin Shan had an EyeFind Mail account.
Grand theft auto V- Eyefind.info is the primary search engine in GTA V. Now accessed in the characters smartphones, eyefind helps you browse websites and manually enter web addresses. The email feature has been removed since there is an app on the smartphone that helps you check messages. The website notes the players current location and the current weather in game.
There is a map feature that provides a detailed and accurate satellite overview of different areas. Another feature lets the user view extremely detailed views of any street from a close point of view.
