Kingdom is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa hara. Its about war orphan Xin and his quest to become the greatest general in the world. As of February 2022 the Kingdom manga had over 87 million copies. As a result, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
About Kingdom.
The story of Kingdom takes place in 245 B.C. in China, during the Warring States period. Xin is a war orphan that lives in the state of Qin. He has one dream and one dream only, be the greatest general there ever is. Hyou, a friend of Xin looks a lot like the emperor of Qin. He decides to serve the king as his body double. By doing so, he gets horribly injured and dies. Even though he is enraged at the king for causing his friends death, Xin sides the king. He helps the king reclaim the throne by defeating his younger half brother. Impressed by this feat, the king makes Xin a high commander at his army.
Anime Adaption
The first two seasons of the Kingdom anime are from Studio Pierrot. The third season is by Studio Signpost, licensed by Funimation, that is aired on NHK BS Premium. Season 1 began airing on 2012/06/04 and had a total of 38 episodes. The second season began airing on 2013/06/08 and ended it’s run with a total of 39 episodes. Season 3 began airing on April 5, 2020 and had about 26 episodes. The fourth season began airing on April 9, 2022 and will end it’s run with a total of 26 episodes.

The 687th chapter of kingdom is named Pain. In the state of war, Rai do has been captured. General Ko chou is visited by soldier Ka man. Ka man lets the general know the situation on the battlefield. Ka Man is still worried and proposes to double their lookouts on western side just in case Kan Ki is planning something. Ko chou arrogantly thinks that Kan ki is unlucky to have him as his opponent. On the other hand, Ban You and Ten are visited by Kan Jou who’s in bad shape. He barely survived and brought few hundred of survivors with him and wants to still join the battle.
