Super Mario. Nintendo’s upcoming Super Mario movie will be delayed until Spring 2023. The decision came after Nintendo reviewed or discussed plans with the movie’s animation studio, Illumination Entertainment.
Super Mario: Release date
The movie’s new release date in North America is 7th of April, 2023. It will be released on 28th of April, 2023 in Japan.
Nintendo CEO Shigeru Miyamoto took to Twitter to announce the movie’s delay. Nintendo previously planned to release the movie during the 2022 holiday season.
The Super Mario Bros. movie has been in the works since 2017 and has been in “priority development” at Illumination over the last few years.

As per Miyamoto, the decision to delay the movie came after he discussed with Illumination Entertainment founder Christopher Meledandri. Moreover, Miyamoto apologized to fans for the delay but he also said that it would be “well worth the wait.”
Super Mario: Plot
Brooklyn plumbers Mario and Luigi get the bump of their lives when they came to know about a parallel world crowded by the knowledgeable broods of dinosaurs. It appears they weren’t demolished by a meteor millions of years ago but retched into another dimension and, now, they have plans to rule our world. It’s up to our unlikely heroes to fight the devil King Koopa and his Goomba guards, free the beautiful Princess Daisy and save humanity in this contingency of a lifetime.
Super Mario: Cast
The untitled Super Mario movie will feature a cast of supremely talented actors. Among them will be Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser. Animating the movie is Illumination Entertainment, best known for creating the Minions films.
Previously in November 2021, Meledandri remitted concerns folks had about actor Chris Pratt’s Mario voice. Meledandri said that Pratt’s take on the legendary character was “phenomenal.” People also issued concerns over the actor’s ties to the Hillsong Church, a religious organization implicated of anti-LGBTQ practices.
