Hometown is a South Korean television series starring Yoo Jae-myung, Han Ye-ri and Uhm Tae-goo. It was first aired on tvN and released on Netflix simultaneously. The plot is set in 1999, a mystery eerie thriller which unfolds the truth of a recording tape containing mysterious serial killings and unidentified sounds in a small city because an unexpected murder in a small town takes place.

In 1989, terrorist Jo Kyung Ho returns to South Korea after studying in Japan and launches fuel at a educate station, killing passengers and finally being sentenced to life in prison. His daughter Jo Jae Young lives with her aunt, Jo Jung Hyun.
After ten years, a homicide case takes place inside the town with Detective Choi Hyung being charge of the violent crime. He sensed that the case is by some means connected to the terrorists, Choi Hyung, who is fed on with the guilt of failing to save his wife from dying ten years ago inside the terrorist attack, starts investigating while Jung Hyun’s niece all of sudden goes missing. After this, Jo Jung Hyun groups up with Choi Hyung to find out the truth and find her niece.
