1 – Silent Hill
Silent Hill is a mind-blowing survival horror game. Team Silent developed this game. They are a group in Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo. Konami handles the publishing. It is not your normal peek-a-boo horror game. It is more of psychological horror game. They launched the game in North America on February 23, 1999. And in Japan it was launched on March 4, 1999.
The main character here is Harry Mason. The objective of the game is find his daughter. The player has to guide the main protagonist through a ghost filled town. There is a ghost at every turn, literally. His daughter’s name is Cheryl. There is combat, reasoning abilities, exploring, and riddle-solving. The game is pretty realistic. 2- Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly
It is a Japanese survival horror video game on ps2. Tecmo not only developed but also published the game. It is second in the series of Fatal Frame game franchise. There was also a shocking revelation. Many players were too frightened to finish the 1st installment. This was released on November 27, 2003.
The story follows around twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura. Well there isn’t much explanation. But they roam around an abandoned village. And the player has to guide them throughout their journey here. They encounter many ghosts and experience paranormal activities.
3 – Siren series
Siren is also known as Forbidden Siren. It is a survival horror stealth game. And Project Siren developed the siren franchise. And they did it along with a development team within Japan Studio. Sony Computer Entertainment published it for the PlayStation 2. It has two sequels. And it also has a film adaption and two manga adaptations. It was released in Japan on November 6, 2003. And in the PAL region it was released on March 12, 2004.
The gameplay is quite complicated. The story alternates between perspectives of ten survivors of a supernatural disaster. This disaster has ocurred in the rural Japanese town of Hanuda in 2003. And everything is shown in the game. Now it follows an order. The surviving needs to escape the town in 3 days. But at the same time they need to figure what happened. And do all of these in 3 days after the disaster hits.
