Gearbox to release new 'Tales From the Borderlands' game in 2022

Gearbox confirmed on Thursday that a new Tales From the Borderlands video game will be released in 2022. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford disclosed the next game during the developer’s Pax East 2022 panel. The game will be totally revealed in the summer, but the first teaser image for the title was posted on social media.

Tales from the Borderlands was an adventure spin-off game of the popular Borderlands franchise that came out in 2014, created by adventure games specialist Telltale Games. Almost after eight years, the story will continue, according to the developer of the Borderlands series Gearbox Software.

The first entry in the Tales From the Borderlands series was released in 2014 by Telltale Games. The game had a story that took place between the events of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3 and then followed two characters — Rhys and Fiona — as they chase for a basement and connected with fan-favorite Borderlands characters like Claptrap.
